Parks & Recreation Director

The City of Richland Center is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to manage, supervise and coordinate the City’s Parks and Recreation programs and events. This department head position works closely with the school district and community groups to provide high quality programming for both youth and adults. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills,  budgeting experience, and must be open to adapting to meet the needs of our residents.

Requirements: Qualified candidates shall have graduated from a four year college or university with a degree in recreation, physical education, parks or leisure services or related field.  A minimum of  five years related work experience and at least two years supervisory experience required. Local government experience preferred. Certifications: Aquatic Facility Operation Certification (AFO), Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Certification in Parks and Recreation (CPRP), Certification in CPR/First Aid, Blood Born Pathogen Training, preferred or ability to obtain within six months. Valid Driver’s License required. Candidate must be available for duty beyond normal work day as required to attend public hearings or meetings related to the position. Starting wage for this salaried position will be commensurate with experience.

Zoning Administrator

The City of Richland Center is seeking to fill a full-time Zoning Administrator position. The position is responsible for administering the City’s zoning ordinances and conducting code enforcement.

Requirements: Qualified candidates shall have any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Urban and Regional Studies, Engineering, Architecture, Criminal Justice or closely related field. Valid Driver’s License required. Candidate must be available for duty beyond normal work day as required to attend public hearings or meetings related to the position. Starting wage for this position is $20-$22 per hour (80 hours bi-weekly) depending on qualifications.

Richland Center Police Department – Police Officer (deadline extended)

The Richland Center Police Department is seeking qualified and career-minded individuals for the position of police officer. Applications are now being accepted to fill a police officer vacancy or vacancies.

Salary: (2022-2024 contract) Beginning base salary of $3,990 per month, to a maximum patrolman base salary of $4,899 per month after 72 months.

Applicant Requirements: Minimum age 18, valid drivers license, high school diploma or GED high school equivalency diploma, Associate Degree or 60 accredited college credits, ability to possess a firearm, no felony or domestic abuse convictions, ability to work nights/weekends/holidays, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment, ability to render credible testimony in a court of law, ability to perform essential functions of the position, certified or certifiable by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board.

Testing Requirements: Must pass written exam, physical agility test, oral interview, medical exam, psychological exam, drug screen, vision test, and extensive background investigation.

The Richland Center Parks and Recreation Department is looking for energetic and dependable individuals to fill seasonal fall and winter positions in coaching sports and enrichment programs! 

Programs are scheduled to run Mondays: September 19-October 24, Thursdays: March 24-April 28 and certain weekdays in November, December, and February, after 5pm.
