Voting & Election Information

Elections are held at the Richland Center Community Center at 1050 N. Orange Street. Polls are open from 7:00 A.M. through 8:00 P.M. Anyone wanting to be an election observer needs to register at the polls.

Voter Registration

Please register to vote in the City Clerk’s Office prior to the election date if you possibly can although you can register at the polls. For more information on elections, visit My Vote Wisconsin website.

A photo identification is required to vote: visit Wisconsin Elections Commission website.

Absentee Voting

Voters may request a ballot at My Vote Wisconsin by the Thursday before an election, however, a photo ID must be uploaded.

In person absentee voting will be held at the City Clerk’s Office – 450 S. Main Street between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday as soon as ballots are available. If you are unable to vote in person, you may send a request for absentee voting to the above listed address. All requests must be in writing and received by the Thursday prior to the election and we will mail the ballots. Instructions and applications may be found at the WI Elections Commission website.

In order to obtain an absentee ballot, voters must present a photo ID in person or include it with the request for the ballot.

Absentee voting at the nursing/assisted living homes will not be in person. Ballots will be mailed to the following locations:

  • Schmitt Woodland Hills – 1400 W. Seminary Street 
  • Harvest Guest Home – 875 Westside Drive
  • Our House Assisted Living – 240 and 250 N. Orange Street

The Community encourages all eligible citizens to exercise their right to vote. Anyone wanting to vote needs to be a registered voter. Please bring acceptable proof of residence with you to register.

If you need curbside voting, please call the office at 608-647-3466 in advance and your ballot will be ready when you arrive. You will still need proper photo identification. Thank you.
