We are getting closer to summer!

If you are visiting our area today, do not be alarmed. It is perfectly normal for Richland Area residents to be wearing shorts and tank tops in 60 degree weather (hey, some of us have been in shorts since February), sunglasses with cloudy skies, and asking anyone standing nearby, "When will the Dairy-O be open?".

It has been a slow, cool, and wet spring, so when the thermometer gets above 50 degrees we get a little over-optimistic regarding summer. However, if we look at the Richland Center Tourism, Calendar of Events, we can see it isn't long now until some of those events, activities, and experiences that mark the beginning of early summer and warmer temperatures are very close.

The Starlite 14 Drive-in has already kicked their season off with the showing of Sonic 2 last weekend and continue with shows every weekend. On May 7 Wild Hills Winery gets their outdoor season rolling with their Second Annual Spring Wine and Cheese Pairing event.

The next weekend, Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14 the Muscoda Morel Mushroom Festival has expanded back to a multiple day event full of activities of all kinds. Also that same Saturday afternoon Mick Memorial Park in Hub City kicks off their season with Dirt Drags. May is starting to fill up with many of the unique events and experiences visitors can enjoy in the Richland Area. Make sure to compare our calendar with yours so you don't miss your favorite events!

To get to the full listing, and more information, regarding these events always check the Calendar of Events on our website.
