Press Release
June 13, 2018

The Richland Center Police Department reports that damage was done to multiple vehicles at Jones Chevrolet, as a result of a motor vehicle crash.

Chief of Police Lucas Clements states that, at approximately 10:04 AM Wednesday, June 13th, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash off of US Highway 14 East, at the Jones Chevrolet dealership location.

Karoline L. Nee, 64, of Richland Center was operating a 2005 Pontiac Minivan eastbound on Hwy 14 when her vehicle contacted a guardrail, continued eastbound traveling off of the roadway to the south, into four unoccupied vehicles in the front of Jones Chevrolet parking lot. Nee and a single passenger were both transported to the Richland Center Hospital for possible injuries. Initial investigation into the cause of the crash revealed Nee suffered a medical event prior to leaving the roadway; alcohol and speed were not contributing factors.

As a result of the crash investigation, Karoline Nee faces tentative traffic charges including failure to maintain control of a vehicle and a seat belt violation. The police department was assisted at the scene by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Richland Center Fire Department, and Richland County Emergency Medical Services.
