108 E. Court Street-Closure of Sidewalk and Parking Spaces

Intertec will be performing some drilling at 108 E. Court Street in Richland Center on August 22nd for BMO Harris Bank.  They will be drilling two 2-inch to 4-inch diameter holes through the concrete at the front of the BMO Bank building.  Given the limited access in that area, it’s likely they will need to perform these borings within the north right-of-way of Court Street (within the sidewalk), and will need to limit access to the sidewalk within the work area.  The work will be completed within one day and they will patch the holes with concrete when done.

Haseltine Street Reconstruction Project

The City of Richland Center and City Utilities will begin the Haseltine Street Reconstruction project between Sheldon and East Streets.

Pulverizing will begin the 26th and final completion is set for August 3, 2019 for the Water and Sanitary Sewer.  The Water utility will also do some construction along Ithaca Road.

The City contract for storm sewer installation and street reconstruction will begin on July 15 and is scheduled for final completion on October 15, 2019.

The detour route for County N from the City is south on Main Street or Church Street / Sextonville Road to US Hwy 14 to the east, turn north on Hwy 58 to Ithaca.  Haseltine Street will be open as much as it can be for local residents to access their properties.  Local residents may use Kinder Street while Haseltine Street is under construction.  Contractors are able to work between 6:30AM and 8PM between Monday and Friday and occasional Saturdays from 7AM to 5PM

Gerke Excavating is the contractor and MSA Professional Services the engineer for the sanitary sewer and water main replacement.  J & J Excavating is the contractor and Vierbicher Associates the engineer for the street and storm sewer construction.

Street Department Scheduled Work June through August

The Richland Center Street Department will be repainting curbs, parking spaces and crosswalks throughout the summer months.  At times, portions of streets will be blocked off while the paint is drying.  While most of the marked parking is in the downtown area, the curbs and crosswalks are throughout the city.  Please use caution and be patient.  Thank you!

Work on Hwy 14 at Bohmann Drive Scheduled for 6/20/2019

The Richland Center Street Department will be working on repairs to catch basins on US Highway 14 at the intersection with Bohmann Drive on June 20th and anticipates all work will be completed the same day.   Lanes will be blocked off while being worked on.  Please use caution and slow down while.

Water Utility Truck For Sale

Richland Center City Utilities Water Department has for sale a 1998 International tandem axle dump truck. The truck has 7703 hours, and 79254 miles. Prior to Utility ownership it was a Municipal plow truck. The truck sells as is with some mechanical issues. Minimum bid is $5,000. Haseltine Street Reconstruction Project (Sheldon to East Streets) 2019

2019 Haseltine Street (Sheldon to East Street) Utility Construction Schedule:

Generally, the order of operations discussed at the 5/15 preconstruction meeting are as follows:

  1. Detour signage installation
  2. Pulverize road surface
  3. Install Sanitary sewer main (Sheldon to Ira)
  4. Replace water valves and fittings (Sheldon to Ira)
  5. Install sanitary and water services (Sheldon to Ira)
  6. J&J to start storm sewer installation and street grading (Sheldon to Ira)
  7. Gerke to complete East Haseltine utility work between  Ira and East Street in same order as above.
  8. The Gerke contract will complete the water main drilling on Ithaca Road
  9. Meanwhile, J&J will continue to the east.

As of the 5/15 precon meeting, items 1& 2 were going to happen late the week of 6/10 with Gerke’s crew starting June 19th.   Gerke’s utility contract work is to be complete by early August.  J&J Underground will start the storm sewer early to mid-July and complete the street work sometime in October.

10/26/2018 Construction Update


Haseltine Street:   Gerke has completed the punch list items on the project.  The lawn restoration will be monitored in the spring to make sure the grass has established.  There will be one final pay request on the project that includes the rest of the street construction.


Westside Drive Reconstruction:  Gasser has been on site paving Westside Drive the last two days.  They plan to have almost all the asphalt done by the end of the day today, except for a small amount at the north end of the project.  Their goal is to finish the remaining asphalt on the project on Saturday.  Depending on weather or other delays, the asphalt driveways might not be finished until early next week.

Augelli Concrete plans to come back on Monday after Gasser is out of the way to finish the remaining concrete driveways and steps on the project.  

 In addition to the asphalt and concrete, Gerke will be finishing the lawn restoration, retaining wall, and Mr. Manhole adjustments after the asphalt is finished.  

 


Panorama Estates:  Gasser was on site today finish grading the road in preparation of paving tomorrow.  Gasser plans to pave the road tomorrow and the asphalt trail on Saturday.  

Augelli Concrete plans to come on Monday to finish the remaining concrete sidewalk on the project.  

 Century Fence was on site today doing the pavement marking on USH 14.  The intersection improvements are now complete, except for some concrete sidewalk at the intersection and lawn restoration.
