Richland Center Large Item Collection

Town & Country Sanitation will have a large item pickup day for items that are not removed with the regular weekly household garbage pickup.

This will take place Saturday, April 3rd, 2021.  Please have items on the curb by 6:00 a.m. that day.

Items Included: Couches, Chairs, Tables, Carpeting, Entertainment Centers, etc.

This pickup does NOT include: Lumber or construction materials, Brush, Leaves, Yard Waste, Microwave, TVs, A/C Units, Any Computer Equipment, Appliances (see below)

APPLIANCES: Town & Country Sanitation will be placing dumpsters at the Richland Center Landfill for appliances.  Those items can be taken to the landfill for disposal during regular landfill hours from April 3rd – April 7th.

Landfill Hours: Monday & Wednesday: 8:00 a.m.  –  1:00 p.m.

Saturday: 8:00 a.m. –  Noon

During those dates, there will not be any charge to dispose of regular appliances at the landfill.  (However, there will be a fee for disposal of microwaves, televisions, air conditioners, and computer equipment).

Large items are not to be placed at the curb at any other time of the year.

Request For Bids – Paint Striper

City of Richland Center – Request for Bids

The City of Richland Center Street Department will be accepting sealed bids for a walk behind airless paint striper.  The striper must have an easy mark gun adjustment system with two flex plus manual guns with 3/8” x 50 ft. of blue max airless hose.  Striper must have locking front wheel and adjustable handle bars.  Striper must also have a display screen to show functions and a maximum PSI of 3,300 gallons per minute of 1.6 with a Honda Gx 160 cc engine.  Parts and service manuals must be included.

Please note that that the area of Church Street between Gage and Burton will be closed during the daytime hours beginning January 11 (Monday) through January 15 (Friday).  Please use Park Street as the detour route until the streets are reopened.  Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

Large Item Collection – Planned for October 10th

Town & Country Sanitation IS PLANNING TO have a large item pickup for items that are not regular weekly household garbage.  The curbside pickup is planned for Saturday October 10, 2020.  Please have your items on the curb by 6:00 a.m.  DUE TO THE COVID-19, TOWN AND COUNTRY SANITATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL IF NEEDED.

Large item collection items include:  COUCHES, CHAIRS, TABLES, CARPETING, ETC.

ITEMS NOT INCLUDED: Lumber, construction materials, brush, appliances, microwaves, televisions, air conditioners or any computer equipment.

APPLIANCES:  Appliances can be taken to the landfill for disposal during regular landfill hours.  On October 12th there will be no charge to dispose of regular appliances.

There is a fee for microwaves, televisions, air conditioners and computer equipment.

Landfill hours:  Mondays and Wednesdays from 8AM to 1PM and Saturdays from 8AM to noon.  608-647-8496

To dispose of large items at times other than the scheduled pickup dates listed above, you can take items to the Landfill or obtain a large item tag from the City Clerk’s office.  Please be aware that large items are NOT to be placed at the curb at any other time of the year unless you have purchased a large item tag from the Clerk’s Office.

Request for Bids – Asphalt on S. Ira Street

The Richland Center Street Department is accepting bids on Ira Street Project

The Richland Center Street Department will be accepting bids on a 27’ wide x 300’ long repaving of the street. Existing asphalt will be removed by the City. Contractor is required to fine grade existing gravel and pave with 4 LT blacktop at 3” compacted thickness.

Central Avenue/Kinder St. Project 5/27/2020 Update

“A1 Excavating, the contractor for the South Central Avenue project has placed traffic control barricade at the project limits today (5/27/2020). On Thursday 5/28/2020 the pavement surface will be pulverized in place and will remain through the weekend.  On Monday June1, the crew from A1 Excavating will begin removing the pulverized pavement along with the curb and gutter scheduled for removal.  Residents are asked to remove a vehicles from the street on Thursday during the pulverizing operation.  Beginning Monday June 1, residents are asked to park on side street or other locations to allow the contractor to work efficiently on the sewer and water utility replacement during the week. Project construction is expected to be complete by mid-August.”

 

Painting of Curbs, Crosswalks and Parking Stalls Begins May 21, 2020

The Richland Center Street Department will begin annual painting of the curbs, crosswalks and parking stalls throughout the city and in the downtown over the next two months, depending on weather.  When doing the parking stalls in the downtown, sections of the street will be blocked off.  Please use caution and avoid the marked areas as they are working.  Thank you!

Central Avenue / Kinder Street Reconstruction Schedule

The Central Avenue Reconstruction Project between Haseltine Street and South Street and on Kinder Street between Main Street and Central Avenue is scheduled to begin about June 1st and be completed by mid to late August.

Downtown Parking Lot Reconstruction Schedule

The City will be reconstructing the following parking lots this summer:

Jefferson Street across from the Kwik Trip
Church Street across from Bindl Tire
Central Avenue next to the Auditorium
