Street Department Scheduled Work June through August

The Richland Center Street Department will be repainting curbs, parking spaces and crosswalks throughout the summer months.  At times, portions of streets will be blocked off while the paint is drying.  While most of the marked parking is in the downtown area, the curbs and crosswalks are throughout the city.  Please use caution and be patient.  Thank you!

Haseltine Street Reconstruction Project (Sheldon to East Streets) 2019

2019 Haseltine Street (Sheldon to East Street) Utility Construction Schedule:

Generally, the order of operations discussed at the 5/15 preconstruction meeting are as follows:

  1. Detour signage installation
  2. Pulverize road surface
  3. Install Sanitary sewer main (Sheldon to Ira)
  4. Replace water valves and fittings (Sheldon to Ira)
  5. Install sanitary and water services (Sheldon to Ira)
  6. J&J to start storm sewer installation and street grading (Sheldon to Ira)
  7. Gerke to complete East Haseltine utility work between  Ira and East Street in same order as above.
  8. The Gerke contract will complete the water main drilling on Ithaca Road
  9. Meanwhile, J&J will continue to the east.

As of the 5/15 precon meeting, items 1& 2 were going to happen late the week of 6/10 with Gerke’s crew starting June 19th.   Gerke’s utility contract work is to be complete by early August.  J&J Underground will start the storm sewer early to mid-July and complete the street work sometime in October.

Memorial Day Flags

Volunteers are needed to put up Veteran’s flags at the Richland Center Cemetery and St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Request for Bids – HVAC Maintenance Agreement

REQUEST FOR BIDS

The City is requesting bids for an annual maintenance agreement on all furnace and air conditioning units within city owned buildings. The contract should be for one-year, renewable for an additional 2 years upon satisfactory performance. The contract will begin in April 2019. A list of the units is available at the City Clerk’s office or online at www.richlandcenter.com under news. Questions may be directed to Dave Fry at 608-604-0398.

Bids should be returned to the City Clerk’s Office at 450 S. Main Street or emailed to Melinda.jones@richlandcenter.com no later than 2:00 p.m. on March 25, 2019.

Richland Center Snow Removal Emergency

Due to anticipated snow accumulations from the impending winter storm, officials from the City of Richland Center have announced that a Snow Removal Emergency is in effect in the city until further notice. This Snow Removal Emergency prohibits vehicles of any kind to be parked on any street or highway within the City of Richland Center between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. The Snow Removal Emergency begins at 10:00 PM Monday night, February 11th and will be in effect for two nights expiring 7:00 am February 13th.

All vehicles must be removed from city streets and highways from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am each night that the Snow Removal Emergency is in effect. Vehicles parked on any city street during these hours will be ticketed. The fine for a Snow Removal Emergency violation is $15.00. In addition, vehicles left on the street in violation of the Snow Removal Emergency may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Overnight, off-street parking will be available in all city-owned municipal parking lots in the downtown as well as the former Community Center parking lot, city hall parking lot and the parking lots in Krouskop Park. Vehicles need to be removed from these lots during the daytime to allow for normal use.
