Crosswalk Repainting 8-13-2021

The Richland Center Street Department will be painting crosswalks along Highway 80/Main Street during the early morning hours on Friday (August 13).  Starting at 12:00 AM midnight and continuing until approximately 7:00 AM, crews will be repainting crosswalks from Kinder Street to 8th Street.  Vehicles may be required to change lanes when driving on Main Street during that time period.  Safety cones will be placed around the work areas, but motorists are asked to please stay alert and proceed through the area with caution.  Anyone with questions should contact Richland Center Public Works Superintendent Terry Nelson at 647-3559.

The ideal City Administrator will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in public administration (Master’s preferred) or a closely related field
  • At least six years of increasingly responsible management experience in an executive position such as department head, assistant manager, city manager or administrator.
  • A strong background in budgeting/municipal finance and personnel management
  • A high level of integrity with open and positive communication skills
  • Experience with collaborative styles and consensus building
  • Knowledge in TIF and grant writing is a plus
  • A history of stable tenures in previous positions

The City Administrator is appointed by the Mayor and eight-member Common Council. Starting salary range: $70,000-$85,000 plus health, retirement, and other fringe benefits.

Parking Lot Resurfacing Starting 7/26/21

The City of Richland Center will be resurfacing all or portions of three parking lots the week of July 26th which may restrict access and/or parking.  Starting Monday (July 26) the southern portion of the Municipal Building lot (450 S. Main) and the western portion of the Community Center (1050 N. Orange) lot nearest the softball diamonds will be resurfaced.  On Tuesday the parking lot at the Street Department shop in the North Industrial Park will be worked on.  On Wednesday the eastern portion of the Community Center lot nearest the aquatic center and senior center will be resurfaced and the northern half of the Municipal Building will be resurfaced.  This will result in the City Utility drive thru being inaccessible.  Each work area will be closed for approximately two days to allow for cooling and painting parking stalls.  Anyone with questions can contact Street Superintendent Terry Nelson at 647-3559.

Road Closure – Sextonville Road/Church Street 06/01/2021

Foremost Farms in Richland Center will be doing construction work at its facility on South Church Street.  As a result, a portion of Sextonville Road/South Church Street will be closed from Tuesday, June 1st through approximately Wednesday, June 16th.  A detour route has been established.  Motorists traveling north on Sextonville Road will be detoured onto South Park Street at TKS, go north for six blocks to East Haseltine Street, then one block west on Haseltine Street to South Church Street.  Motorists who can avoid that area are encouraged to do so.  Sextonville Road/South Church Street will reopen for regular use on June 17th.
